TEDx TU Darmstadt
This project was to design the look and feel for the TEDxTU Darmstadt 2023 event. TEDxTUDarmstadt brings together inspiring individuals who passionately share unique ideas on a wide range of topics, from technology to environmental protection. The event is unpolitical, aiming to provide an unforgettable evening filled with ideas worth spreading. This year’s theme, “Next Chapter,” promises thought-provoking talks and engaging discussions, empowering attendees to explore new frontiers.
For TEDxTU Darmstadt’s “Next Chapter” theme, I created a visual world inspired by the feeling of stepping into something new.
At the centre of the design is an open book, with a miniature version of Darmstadt rising from its pages and paper planes drifting above the city. I built custom 3D models of some of Darmstadt’s most recognisable landmarks, giving the piece a connection to the place and community behind the event. The paper planes became a simple symbol for ideas taking flight, while the city emerging from the book represented the beginning of a new chapter. One shaped by curiosity, imagination and progress.
The scene was modelled and rendered in Cinema 4D, then finished with a hand-painted Procreate paintover to give it a softer, more illustrative feel.
The artwork became the visual identity for the event and was carried across banners, programmes and digital content.
